| TAB Services takes pride
in collecting delinquent accounts through the successful combination
of high technology and talented employees, resulting in fast and
efficient collections. TAB specializes in fast, direct contact
with responsible parties to expedite payment arrangements.
Adding
to the speed and convenience of its services, TAB offers electronic
access via the web for account listing, payment recording, and limited
viewing of accounts placed for collection.
Our
system can be adapted to work with nearly any client data batch
transmission.
Collection Efforts
- Step 1: 1st Notice
When an account
is received by TAB Services, a collection notice is sent to the debtor
requesting payment in full. However, payment arrangements can be
made, depending on the circumstances.
- Step 2: Telephone
Contact
If the debtor does
not respond to the first notice, the collector attempts contact by
phone at the debtor’s home or workplace. When an agreement to pay
in full or make a partial payment is made by the debtor and the collector,
the agreement and date of payment are recorded in TAB’s computer
system.
- Step 3: Payment
Plan or Legal Action
If the agreed-upon payment is made on time, the debtor is not contacted
by TAB again. However, if the payment is not received after three days,
the collector will contact the debtor again to resolve the matter. If
the debtor refuses to cooperate with collection efforts (broken promises,
avoiding collector phone calls, etc.), TAB will recommend to the client
that an attorney be assigned to seek judgement.

Accounts Requiring Legal Action
If payment is not received from a debtor who is capable of payment,
or if the debtor refuses to cooperate, the account is given to
the collection supervisor with recommendation for follow-up.
The collection supervisor reviews the account for possible legal
action by checking the account to assure that the criteria for
legal action have been met and that all other avenues of collecting
the debt have been exhausted. The supervisor will either approve
or deny the request for legal action. TAB’s legal firm is
J. Andrew Enlow, Inc., located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
TAB pays all court costs and attorney fees, at no expense to the
client.
The length of time TAB
allows before recommending legal action varies from account to
account, depending on the circumstances. TAB’s collectors are trained
to exhaust all other collection methods before requesting legal
action. However, TAB never pursues legal action in the first 30
days the account is open, unless other accounts are ready for suit.

Disputed Claims
If a debtor responds with a disputed
claim, Tulsa Adjustment Bureau ceases all collection activity and
indicates the dispute on the debtor’s record. The collector refers
this information to the collection supervisor, who contacts the client.
Once the client has reviewed the dispute, TAB proceeds with the client’s
recommendation. Back to top
Closing Accounts
Accounts are usually closed and returned to the client when
the statute of limitations has expired. Back to top
